Elon Musk isn't the only one interested in the underground
I've always been fascinated with tunnels. As a young girl I went spelunking on a school field trip through several caves in the Ozark Mountains. I couldn't tell you where exactly but I vividly remember one cave that we had to go down through a small opening down into a huge cavern where we camped inside for the night. It was as big as a football field. Another cave we had to wade through red clay almost knee deep. As an adult I visited Montana and we went into a small narrow cave just tall enough to walk upright and narrow enough to be able to touch both sides of the cave with my hands. Probably to the annoyance of my companions, I couldn't help but to sing as we walked because the sound was so amazing in there. Cave resonance I learned recently is a real thing and can be very powerful at healing and accessing our third eye spirituality. If you study religion at all, you know that many mystics and spiritual leaders received inspiration and messages from beyond while spending time inside caves.
Where I live, downtown Tacoma there are legends about tunnels but you won't find any confirmation from the city about them. They officially do not exist despite evidence to the contrary. A lot has been written about the legendary "Downtown Tacoma Tunnels" which you can easily find with a quick google search. One night back in 2012 I hosted a tour of some of the underground spaces that were still accessible. You can read about that on the Tacoma Stories website.
I think you can see now that this interest in tunnels is something that has been with me for a long time. Maybe even for generations .....
What I didn't realize until recently was that my ancestors were also interested in what's going on below the surface of the earth. There is a scientific theory that we carry in our DNA memories from our ancestors. Maybe my interest in places deep inside the earth come from deep inside of my own body. As above, so below.
There is a part of the book I am writing about Hotel Olympus that deals with tunnels under the building. I can't know for sure if they exist so this is part of the possibly fictional part of my historical fiction tale. But I can tell you that there are metal plates that have not been moved in decades that cover parts of the floor in the basement where the concrete is missing.
I wanted to look into the lore of underground spaces so I have been researching. This led me to something called "Agartha," a fascinating mythical city that supposedly exists underground. Sometimes its referred to as Shambala. While learning about this, I came across the real life accounts about subterranean areas from several respected people who turned out to be my relatives. I'm not even surprised anymore. (Have you been reading previous entries to this blog? If so, you're probably not either).
For something that is supposed to be fictional, there certainly are a long list of credible and well connected witnesses.
1. Rear Admiral Richard Byrd Jr
Rear Admiral Richard Byrd Jr. claimed to have found the entrance to Agartha while on a government mission in the Antarctica. There is a book about this on Amazon. I haven't read it yet but I think I will just for fun."The great explorer's "missing journal" describing his mysterious voyage inside the earth which was never revealed to the public. Supposedly, Byrd say a great land beyond the pole that was NOT covered in ice and he met beings of a super nature."
Rear Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd, Jr. USN is my 13th cousin.

It seems that Admiral Byrd named a mountain range after Hughes:

Could this be the location of the infamous hole in the earth?
3. Sir Edmond Halley II
Halley became a graduate of the University of Oxford on 3 December 1678 without taking the degree examinations, the degree being conferred on the command of King Charles II. He was also elected a member of the Royal Society on 30 November 1678 becoming, at the age of 22, one of its youngest ever Fellows.
His intellect, discoveries and powerful friends made Halley a very influential character. His hollow earth theories were largely debunked however he was not wrong about underground cities as archeologists are constantly uncovering evidence throughout the globe.
4. Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton
Edward Bulwer-Lytton was a science fiction author and high ranking member of secret societies. He was the original author who wrote, "It was a dark and stormy night ..." I found this very interesting because my father used to use that phrase all the time. Whenever I wanted him to tell me a story, he would say this, "It was a dark and stormy night in the Ozark Mountains and the Captain said, 'Antonio tell us a story!' and this is the story he told: It was a dark and stormy night in the Ozark Mountains ..."
5. Richard Sharpe Shaver
"Richard Sharpe Shaver (October 8, 1907 Berwick, Pennsylvania – November 5, 1975 Summit, Arkansas) was an American writer and artist.
He achieved notoriety in the years following World War II as the author of controversial stories that were printed in science fiction magazines (primarily Amazing Stories), in which he claimed that he had had personal experience of a sinister ancient civilization that harbored fantastic technology in caverns under the earth. The controversy stemmed from the claim by Shaver, and his editor and publisher Ray Palmer, that Shaver's writings, while presented in the guise of fiction, were fundamentally true. Shaver's stories were promoted by Ray Palmer as "The Shaver Mystery".
During the last decades of his life, Shaver devoted himself to "rock books"—stones that he believed had been created by the advanced ancient races and embedded with legible pictures and texts. He produced paintings allegedly based on the rocks' images and photographed the rock books extensively, as well as writing about them. Posthumously, Shaver has gained a reputation as an artist and his paintings and photos have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere. " - wikipedia
6. Captain John Cleves Symmes Jr.
There was also Captain John Cleves Symmes Jr.
Captain John Cleves Symmes Jr. (November 5, 1780– May 28, 1829) was an American Army officer, trader, and lecturer. Symmes is best known for his 1818 variant of the Hollow Earth theory, which introduced the concept of openings to the inner world at the poles where the earths crust is said to be thinner due to earths ellipsoid shape. Did you know it isn't exactly round?

7. Nicholas Roerich
Nicholas Roerich is a famous painter and mystic who went on a US Government funded expedition to Tibet to find the underground city of Shambala. He disappeared for many months and returned with paintings he made refkecting what he said he found there. His genealogy is incomplete so I can't know for sure if he and I are related. You may have heard his name in association with Dan Akroyd's film "GhostBusters." He had an art gallery in a famous building downtown New York and influenced American politics and was said to be the reason we have the Eye of Horace on our money. His story is a fascinating one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR8RqM0bAmM
"Roerich was a mystic said to be in possession of part the “Chintamani Stone” or what some people call, “The Holy Grail.” Another piece of this fabled stone is supposedly encased at the Kabaa in Mecca. It’s powers are said to confer upon the possessor of the stone the ability to see clearly into both the past and the future while accelerating one’s spiritual development for beyond the lackluster rate of the average person. In short, it contained magical properties that could turn the average human into a supra-human.
Nicholas Roerich used to carry it around in a little coffin-like-box, with a cloth from Tibet, shrouding the coffin itself. Roerich’s tales of meeting with supermen in Tibet, the Chintamani Stone and his elite Russian network of artists, which included the likes of Stravinsky, Balanchine and Kandinsky gave him an almost unprecedented set of credentials to access the highest corridors of power under the Roosevelt administration through Roosevelt’s vice-president, Henry Wallace." - Robert Phoenix
