Happy Thursday my thrift seekers!

I'm currently contemplating a stroll to the Proctor District. Why? Well, there's goodness to explore. Here's just a couple of examples.

Goodness, me oh my, the treasures you will see. Loads of PNW treasures to adorn your home, indulge your taste buds, read and more. Their selection of local titles from local lore, to history, to local authors is pretty much awesome.
These cute little letters caught my eye. Great for your kiddos room this letter banner is made from upcycled children's board books. Fun, colorful and locally crafted.



Any one who knows Lady Jacqueline, KNOWS how I love wine. And with a dozen or more Washington wines for UNDER $10, I was a little giddy.

I saw the word free and gravitated. These cute little tees can be dressed up or down and come in lots of colors. I can dig it.

Earn bucks when you shop. Yup, can't not like that.

This is really an elegant and lovely sink. What an easy way to dress up your bathroom.


Bowling ball included this retro fabulous bag is super rad. Just call me Bill, that's the name on the ball. I also go by King Pin.
Now these drawers are gorgeous! Seriously, furniture love right here.

What's in a name? Who are the Jossy's and where did they come from?

I decided to research my Jossy Patriarchal line as far back as I could. I made it all the way back to the 1300s and along the way I learned some things. For one thing my last name has evolved over time. My father spelled his last name Jossy but a few generations back they spelled it Jossi. Go back a few more and it becomes von Jossa. This journey took me from Washington State to Oregon to Switzerland and eventually Germany. I also learned that the "von" represents nobility.  I also noticed that they repeated the same first names a lot. There were a lot of Peter's for example. Peter is a very old name. The people of ancient Greece used it and its said to mean "rock." Of course Peter was also one of the disciples of Jesus which is probably where most people know it from but Peter the disciple was nick-named that by Jesus. All that Jasz

While following my Patriarchal line, I noticed that my last name evolved over time - the last change I can't yet find but I found some hints. As I explained in my last blog seemed that around 1100 AD we may have been named after a river. Or the river may have been named after us. All I know is that we were both there with the name Jossa around that time. I can't trace the name beyond that point. They were obviously wealthy because they built castles and had "von" in front of the name which indicated Lordship.  I read also that German last names can mean their original occupation but it can also indicate the place where they are from. Several times while reading about the von Jossa's, they also called them "von Jasza" and this confused me.  I also learned that they used to name rivers after their Gods. Elon Musk isn't the only one interested in the underground

I've always been fascinated with tunnels. As a young girl I went spelunking on a school field trip through several caves in the Ozark Mountains. I couldn't tell you where exactly but I vividly remember one cave that we had to go down through a small opening down into a huge cavern where we camped inside for the night. It was as big as a football field. Another cave we had to wade through red clay almost knee deep. As an adult I visited Montana and we went into a small narrow cave just tall enough to walk upright and narrow enough to be able to touch both sides of the cave with my hands. Probably to the annoyance of my companions, I couldn't help but to sing as we walked because the sound was so amazing in there. Cave resonance I learned recently is a real thing and can be very powerful at healing and accessing our third eye spirituality.
