Day 7

Some days it's just not easy being the Duchess of Downtown. Today my battery died on my first stop so I only got a few pictures. I will go back tomorrow and update this post as well as make the one for Day 8. Please check back tomorrow and in the mean time here's a sneak peek.

UPDATE: Full report on day 7 below!

First stop: University of Washington Bookstore

If you have any UW grads or bookworms on your list the UW Bookstore has many great items for your Christmas list.

Renaissance Cafe

This restaurant also has an art display. Maybe some retro art might be just the ticket?

Purple Peacock

There are some amazing discoveries in this little store. Everything is shiny and colorful and you really have to see it person to appreciate it. There were quite a few things in here that the Duchess would love! And if you're on the hunt for stocking stuffers there are some really good options here.

Hello Cupcake

Hello cute and delicious! Gift packs and gift cards are available.

I love this cupcake rack!

Buy your sweetie a gift card for Hello Cupcake and they will love you forever.
That's an exaggeration of course but I'm sure you'll at least get brownie points here.

Stocking stuffer alert!

South Sound Running

The guys that work in this store are not merely retail clerks. They are shoe fitting experts. They have an open space they call a runway where they ask you to walk for them so they can observe they way you place your feet when you walk. They use this information to put you in the right shoes. Pretty awesome, right? Everything in the store is specifically for runners. I asked them if they had any shoes or clothing that prevent people from wheezing and passing out while attempting to run and he said they haven't got that in stock yet but he will keep me informed.

Stocking stuffer alert!

BKB Gallery

Tacoma suffered a loss this month. BKB Gallery closed up shop and they are leaving with every bit of class and style that we would expect. Their front window says, "Thank You Tacoma." Aw, that's so nice. We're really gonna miss those guys.
Fixture sale Jan. 6th & 7th 10 am to 4 pm.

And that wraps up Day 7. Thanks for reading and if you visit any of these places please let them know that the Duchess sent you.

XOXO,
Duchess of Downtown
