Menu Item Monday (April 30th 2012)

Image
Today's Menu Item Monday is full of mainstream food that's great for families. Varsity Grill  1114 Broadway  Tacoma, WA 98402 (253) 627-1229 http://varsitygrill.com/ At Varsity Grill, kids eat free all the time with the purchase of an adult entree. Wednesday's are $5 Steak and Shrimp night at Varsity Grill. I tried it the other night and look how good it was! They also have $3 Steak & Fries! (4pm- 10pm).   The rest of these pictures were taken at a dinner party I attended there earlier this month. I just ran around taking pictures of my friends food before they took their first bites. There were 25 people around the table so I had to go really fast and I didn't ask what they were eating! So these photo captions are my best guesses .... I think this is a BLT Croissant but I'm not sure. Hamburger I don't know what this is, if you do, help a girl out and leave a comment below. Veggie burger The Villa Caffe & Imbibery  1...

Thrify Thursday (April 26th, 2012)

How does one go about all the time and not notice deals? Since our economy dropped off, whether you are an optimist and think it's on the up and up or not so optimistic and think it's still swirling down the drain, one thing is certain; businesses will always have their clearance racks and sale items. They want your business. This includes the ma and pop stores all over Tacoma. Let's face it, while Tacoma is a city it is also a tight knit community. We want to support our fellow community members far more than the big wigs hocking subpar wares. And that is what we aim to do each week with our Thrifty Thursday. Shop local, save big and help our community flourish. Posh Home Connect on Facebook If you're in need of some swagger in your home life go visit Posh Home. There are some AMAZING staples from your home for both the not so thrifty and thrifty alike. There is a whole clearance corner filled with rad items. Wellness Wednesday (April 25th 2012)

Nobody promised you a bed of roses .... but somebody should have. Somebody still can and that somebody is you. I have this theory that positive and negative energy is around us all the time what what we focus on is up to us. Whatever is going on in our lives at any given moment can always be interpreted as positive or negative and how we choose to perceive it makes a big difference in what we experience. There's a saying that life is not what happens but how we react to it. There are two stories that really brought this point home for me. Here's the first one: There is a Chinese story of a farmer who used an old horse to till his fields. One day, the horse escaped into the hills and when the farmer's neighbors sympathized with the old man over his bad luck, the farmer replied, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?" A week later, the horse returned with a herd of horses from the hills and this time the neighbors congratulated the farmer on his good luck. His reply was...

Home is where the heart is. There's no place like home. Home is where you hang your hat. You can learn a lot about a person by looking at their home, can't you? All the things we collect and display, all the remnants of our travels and experiences, all the things that bring us comfort. These are not decisions to be taken lightly. I still haven't found my ideal couch. It takes time to find these things. I try to make it a little easier for you by showing you some items that are looking for their ideal homes. Maybe you and your ideal items will find eachother here. You can tell your grandchildren how you met online. Enjoy your virtual shopping trip my friends.
