Day 2

For Day 2 of our 12 Days of Shopping series we are continuing down Broadway and visiting some more of its hidden gems.

This neighborhood has some of the most amazing gift options for everyone on your gift list. On Broadway you'll find clothing, home decor, art, shoes, toys and even costumes year round. Yesterday we visited Sanford & Son, Abby's on Broadway, What? Shop and Broadway's Best Antiques. Here's what we're checking out today:
  • London Couture
  • Shepard House Antiques
  • A New Thyme / Chelsia Berry Designs
  • Nanette's

London Couture

This store sits at 746 Broadway, an address close to this bloggers heart and they've transformed it into an amazing space full of sparkly goodness. I could drop a few k's in here fo sho! I bought one of my favorite summer hats at this store and next time I get invited to prom, I'll definitely be scoping these floors for satin/chiffon hotness.

I'm what you'd call a hat person. I don't know the exact number of hats I have, but I'm fairly sure its a ridiculous number. They have a great selection at London Couture and because I have even less cash than I do willpower right now I settled for a photo of this hot pink beret that was not so subtly calling my name. If the world was fair I'd be singing "Rasberry Beret" while wearing this to the upcoming Prince concert next week.

These dresses are amazing.

I love feather earrings, especially the peacock ones.

Hair accessories

How awesome are these shoes? Sparkly and sexy but not too high to actually walk in.

These shoes would look great with lingerie from Nanette's Secret Room. We'll get to that later.

This would also make a nice Prince concert outfit, don't you think?
I definitely think The Artist would approve.

And for the truly outrageous person on your list ...

You'll also find men's clothing at London Couture including a rather large selection of ties.

London Couture sizes range from 0 to 3x. Most dresses are between size 3 and size 12 however.

And like I said yesterday, you can never have too many tiaras and I'm not just saying that because I'm the Duchess.

Every Friday London Couture from 5-8 pm you can get a makeover.  Now you have no excuse for looking frumpy this holiday season. This pampering makeover session also makes a great gift for your girl friend.
Shepard House Antiques

Next door to London Couture is Shepard's Antiques. Its a small shop packed full of good finds. Here are a few of my favorite items.

Holiday decor items and a cool vintage record player.

These plates beg for cakes and cookies.

Ever since William and Kate's wedding, all things baroque and royal are back in. You can find lots of classically decadent home decor items in Tacoma's antique stores. And I can see my reflection in this silver pitcher. I think my tiara is a bit crooked.

Zebra top end table. Yes!

Do you know what time it is? No? That's OK I don't either.

Chandeliers, one day I will have one in every room in my home.

Jewelry, pendents and other goodies.

And then I found this, which defies explanation but I'm pretty sure that if I were The Bloggess I would totally buy this, taunt my husband with it, write a entire blog about it and then create a series of merchandise items featuring pictures of it.  If you don't know what I mean, click here. YOU'RE WELCOME.

Anew Thyme and Chelsia Berry Designs

These two stores share one storefront. Anew Thyme sells gently used clothes for pregnant women and a few items for newborns. Chelsia Berry has her own clothing designs on display plus a custom alteration shop in the back. Here are a few items they had for sale today:

Is it just me or is that mannequin a little brazen? She must be from Brazil.

Cute and comfortable.

Made in Tacoma Onesie - OMG so cute!

Croched hats and booties for babies
Love the scarf, love the mannequin head.

Chelsia can alter and repair clothing for you.

Nanette's

Nannette is such a kind person and she really has a talent for display. Her selection of high quality used clothes is quite good with even some name brand items still with store tags on them. I also discovered that she has a semi-secret back room with a large selection of lingerie items! Everything in this store was super cute.

Bloomer panties from the lingerie room perfect for pleasing Santa.

Row of slips and silky nightgowns. All you need is one of these, some big hair and a pair of heels.

Row of bra's: just add boobs, no batteries required.

Red  bloomer panties with ruffles.

Alright kids. That's it for DAY 2. Come back tomorrow as we continue shopping our way through downtown Tacoma. To see all the photos I took during Day 1 & 2, visit my flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/72132270@N08/sets/72157628412750325

XOXO,
Duchess of Downtown
