Fashion Friday (Aug. 10th, 2012) Boutique-alicious Tacoma
Welcome to this week's Fashion Friday blog. I'm still filling in here until I can find a new fashionista to take over. Today we visit Catwalk, Envy, Sonja Clothes to Live in and Vanity. These are all really great places to find on-trend looks and unique designs.
First stop is Catwalk a new pop-up boutique with clothing created by local designers, jewelry by local jewelry designers, purses and hats by local designers and art by local artists. You will go nuts when you see all these cool and innovative designs! The "pop-up" part refers to the fact that this store is only going to be there temporarily until the space its in is taken over by a real tenant. They only have it on loan so get in there before its too late. The offerings are too good to miss!

Envy is in Proctor District, near downtown but not quite in it. Its just a bit North in the fancy section of Tacoma. The clothes there are super cute but I found myself drawn to the jewelry. Like I said last week, I can't resist things that sparkle!

This shop used to be in the Bridge District but now they've moved up to Proctor and expanded it to include a frozen yogurt shop too! This is the perfect time to get some Proctor Frozen Yogurt and pick out some cute new outfits at the same time.

Vanity is a resale boutique that specializes in vintage with an eclectic mix of newer resale items. And when they say vintage they mean it! Clothing of many decades, most in perfect condition, is found at Vanity. They also buy and trade. They're open every day of the week so if you have a fashion emergency you know you can count on them!
Check out this 1930s raspberry gown (Size medium), perfect for summer and what a gorgeous color.
If you need something for a special occasion Vanity has got you covered. I loved this late 40s evening dress and would like to find an occasion to wear something like this!
At Vanity you'll also find accessories like this awesome 1970s tooled leather bag. In addition to bags, Vanity has loads of shoes, hats and jewelry. Drool.
Vanity is offering a special deal for readers of the Duchess of Downtown blog. Click on the image below, print it out and bring it to Vanity for 25% off your purchase. This coupon expires in 2 weeks so don't procrastinate!
All of these shop owners belong to a group called Tacoma Shopgirl. If you're not familiar, Shopgirl is a network of women-owned brick and mortar businesses who support each other. Shopgirl has a Facebook page you should "like" so you find out about their amazing events. Click here to visit Tacoma Shopgirl.
OK, you should be all set for your weekend now. Keep lookin' good out there Tacoma!

Silver multi-tier necklace with lots of charms = charming! |
This silver flowered necklace kind of reminds me of some of the broach necklaces that have been all the rage on sites like Pinterest and Etsy. |
I want the butterfly ring. |
